The parish council is aware a significant number of full and covered skips have been left in a field beside Sun Road. The picture was taken last Sunday and shows about 12 skips but now the number has risen to about 18.

The landowner has explained they have been left there temporarily. Were they to be left there permanently it is likely to be a contravention of planning regulations. They contain building waste and that must be disposed of at a registered site. The Environment Agency have been informed of the situation and will monitor that everything is done correctly. The skips don’t contain asbestos but corrugated metal sheeting and there is no food waste and so they won’t attract rats.
